Munich/Marrakesh, October 4, 2013 – At this year’s conference of the women’s entrepreneur association FCEM in Marrakesh, businesswoman Regine Sixt was the recipient of the prestigious ‘Woman Entrepreneur of the World Award 2013’. The World Association of Women Entrepreneurs uses the award annually to honor outstanding achievements by women in business.
Together with her husband, Regine Sixt has built up the Sixt company into what it is today: the leading German car rental business and one of the world’s largest international mobility providers. At Sixt S.E. she is responsible for international marketing, and has been part of initiating the group’s ongoing global expansion in 105 countries. She is involved with 42 projects worldwide, helping for children who are ill and needy through the Regine Sixt children’s foundation, Drying Little Tears, of which she is Chairwoman. She is also active in numerous other charity organizations. She is the honorary consul general of Barbados to Germany, and bears the title Senator h.c. der mittelständischen Industrie, or Honorary Senator for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses.
Stephanie Bschorr, President of the Association of German Businesswomen: “I am especially pleased that this international organization has acknowledged a German businesswoman who epitomizes family tradition and entrepreneurial passion. Regine Sixt succeeds remarkably in reconciling corporate growth with the preservation of tradition and values.”
Regine Sixt herself states: “This award means a tremendous amount to me, and I would like to dedicate it to every woman who succeeds in her professional as well as her private life. I hope that in the future more women will manage to realize their career dreams, beyond the political debate around quotas of women in business.”
